Imperial Brands reminds the British government not to adopt excessive tobacco control policies

The British Prime Minister recently said that he plans to introduce a new law to ban the sale of tobacco products to people born after January 1, 2009. Imperial Brands has warned the UK government that aggressive tobacco control policies could have "significant unintended consequences".

An Imperial Brands spokesman said: "We understand the government's desire to introduce new tobacco control measures. However, measures to ban the legal sale of cigarettes could have significant unintended consequences."
