JTI Bulgaria launches publicity campaign to promote proper disposal of cigarette butts to protect the environment

According to investors, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Bulgaria is running a publicity campaign that aims to remind users of tobacco products to properly dispose of cigarette butts after use and discard them in dedicated locations.

The campaign takes place in November and December of 2023 via radio and social media. The company said that according to an EU study, an average of three out of ten tobacco product filters are handled incorrectly.

The campaign, titled "Will You Tell Me?", was reportedly carried out by JTI Bulgaria in order to implement Article 23 of the regulations on reducing the environmental impact of certain plastic products.

Márton Pataki, manager of JTI Bulgaria, commented that we do not need accurate statistics to be responsible for our environment. Properly disposing of cigarette butts requires very little effort, but the results are immediate.
