Philip Morris International signs co-production agreement with British American Tobacco

According to recent media reports, Philip Morris International and British American Tobacco have signed a cooperative production agreement in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

Under the agreement, some of BAT's cigarette products will be produced at Philip Morris International's plant in Neuchâtel, and these cigarettes will be sold in the Swiss market. British American Tobacco's factories produce cigarettes that the company sells outside the Swiss market.

British American Tobacco announced last year that it would cease production at its Boncourt plant in Switzerland, retaining its warehousing and transportation units. British American Tobacco said that the next step will be to add six positions at the Boncourt plant, bringing the total number of positions at the plant to about 20.
