British American Tobacco has launched a new version of its Glo heating device. Glo is a smoking alternative that does not involve combustion and produces fewer and lower levels of toxic substances than traditional cigarettes.
According to the company, the Glo Hyper Pro device is lightweight, easy to fit into consumers' pockets, and offers improved performance. With this new device, a single charge takes about 90 minutes and can last all day. Once charged, consumers can expect to use the device a total of 20 times.
"We are proud that more than 8.8 million adult consumers are using Glo today," Kingsley Wheaton, BAT's chief strategy and growth officer, said in a statement. "This latest version is our most advanced yet version, the user experience has been greatly improved. We continue to listen to consumers and improve our products so that they find Glo a satisfactory alternative to continuing to smoke. Ultimately, BAT’s aim is to support smokers to switch with these low-risk products, thereby delivering benefits to consumers, society and our stakeholders.”
The broader Glo range of products is sold in more than 20 markets worldwide. Glo Hyper Pro devices have been launched in Japan, Italy and Poland, with further global rollout planned in 2024.
