Florida introduces sniffer dogs to curb student e-cigarette use

According to Gazetanews, the state of Florida in the United States is introducing sniffer dogs to be trained to detect students possessing e-cigarettes, smoking devices and other drugs in schools.

Even though Florida schools have banned e-cigarette use in recent years, the phenomenon has continued to rise. The Lake County Sheriff's Office recently announced that they have taken in an 18-month-old Labrador Retriever named Samba to help combat the vaping epidemic in the county's schools.

The canine training comes at a time when e-cigarette use is on the rise, with both the Lake County Department of Education and the Police Department looking for new ways to detect and deter students from using e-cigarettes.
