Kyrgyzstan MPs propose amending regulations to ban smoking in public places

According to the Kyrgyz media Tazabek, Kyrgyzstan is launching an “anti-smoking” movement, with members of parliament Ormonov U.Z., Sydykov B.U., Satibardiyev · Elnazar (Satybaldiev E.R.) and Tumonbayev A.T. jointly submitted a proposal to amend various regulations.

According to information on the bill presented by the Chair of the Social Policy Committee Vinera Rayimbachayeva, the new regulations propose a ban on smoking in public places to protect citizens from the effects of tobacco, nicotine and environmental tobacco smoke and aerosols.

In addition, this proposal also plans to establish clear regulations and penalties for providing tobacco products to children and minors under the age of 16 to protect minors from the harm of tobacco.
