Sri Lanka Tobacco Company urgently stops selling three flavored tobacco products

According to Dailymirror news on November 22, Sri Lanka’s Ceylon Tobacco Company (CTC) has stopped selling three flavored tobacco products. This measure has been implemented since November 17.

According to the National Tobacco and Alcohol Authority of Sri Lanka (NATA) Act, Sri Lanka prohibits the sale of any tobacco products or mixtures containing flavours, colorings or sweeteners.

Articles 30 and 33 of the National Tobacco and Alcohol Administration Law (No. 27 of 2006) put forward relevant provisions. According to the advisory, smokeless tobacco products or mixtures containing tobacco, any cigarette containing tobacco, tinted or sweetened cigarettes or any e-cigarette containing tobacco are prohibited.
