The use of e-cigarettes among Colombian middle school students has increased, and the government fined British American Tobacco and other companies 1.496 billion pesos

According to Eluniversal, the 2022 National Study on the Consumption of Psychoactive Substances among Secondary School Students shows that one in five Colombian middle school students in grades 7 to 11 has ever used e-cigarettes, ranging in age from 12 to 18 years old.

In response to this situation, the Colombian Industrial and Commercial Supervision Bureau fined British American Tobacco Colombia, Lifetech and DYI Group more than 1.496 billion Colombian pesos (approximately RMB 2.64 million) because their e-cigarette packaging and advertising did not clearly state the health effects of the product. Harmful, and some product information does not even provide Spanish descriptions.
