Nicotine pouches and Swedish snus spark controversy as new generation products proven more effective at quitting smoking

According to Nezavisne, the use of nicotine pouches (nikotinske vrećice) and Swedish snus (snus) has caused controversy in society. Although the two products are similar in appearance, they are actually classified differently.

The main reason why these two products have been widely discussed recently is that a certain part of the population has begun to use Swedish snus, a tobacco package for oral use, which is banned throughout the EU. The situation has fueled criticism of nicotine pouches, even though they are entirely a new generation product.

These nicotine pouches do not contain tobacco and are considered a less harmful product than traditional cigarettes. This new generation of burn-free tobacco products plays an important role in the fight against smoking and is seen as a tool to help reduce or even completely stop smoking.

According to the results of independent research by the National Academy of Sciences in the United States and the British Department of Health and Social Security, e-cigarettes can be up to 95% less harmful than traditional tobacco products.

At the same time, the British National Health Institute also released nine concepts and facts about e-cigarettes. One of them is that nicotine is not an extremely carcinogenic substance. In fact, nicotine does not directly cause cancer, lung disease, heart disease or Stroke. Nicotine contributes to smoking addiction, but it is the many other toxic chemicals contained in tobacco smoke that cause substantial health damage.

In addition, new types of non-combustible products such as e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products and nicotine pouches have been proven to be more effective in quitting smoking and are far less harmful than traditional tobacco.

Research results released by the world's authoritative Cochrane also confirm that compared with nicotine replacement therapies, such as nicotine patches, the new generation of products is more effective in quitting smoking.
