The Russian Republic of Tatarstan unanimously passes a bill banning minors from entering hookah venues.

According to a report by Russian media inkazan, a new bill in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan plans to ban minors from entering places that provide hookah use services, as well as specially set up isolated areas where smoking is allowed.

The report pointed out that although the sale of tobacco to minors is prohibited, such incidents occur every year. According to statistics, there were more than 30 such accidents in 2021 and 2022, but by 2023 this number had dropped to 25. This problem is not only widespread in large cities, but also often occurs in the Kazan region.

Lawmaker Naumova said the bill would help to fight youth smoking more forcefully. The bill passed unanimously.
